Essential for sports recovery

With Body Boost Bed PBM light therapy device Physiotherapists and Sports Medicine Specialists can treat a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and pain. The benefits of light therapy are that they reduce the discomfort of pain and inflammation while promoting blood flow and the body’s own tissue repair mechanisms.

These effects are also valuable in rehabilitation processes that involve exercise programs to recover from muscle lesions and can mitigate the adverse effects of orthopedic surgical procedures, such as muscle weakness and atrophy, and accelerate the return to athletic sports or functional activity.

Treat the entire system

Treats the entire system not just one part at the time, often when you have pain it can be referred pain from an injury elsewhere in the body. Treating the entire body ensures maximum benefits.

Reach your maximum

Body Boost Bed, medically approved full body PMB light therapy device is designed for treatment of athletes in an efficient, comfortable, and safe way. Therapy is used before and/or after exercises in order to: Accelerate muscle recovery, protect against muscle damage induced by exercise and Improve performance such as increasing muscle strength and fatigue resistance.

The effects of light therapy on RNA synthesis in conjunction with the greater increase in muscle volume and performance, combined with reduction of muscle damage and delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) strongly suggest that several signalling pathways involved in cell proliferation and protein synthesis, energy metabolism, cytoprotection, inflammation, and oxidative stress were modulated by light therapy resulting in macroscopic and functional benefits for human skeletal muscles.

Mechanism of action

Mechanisms of action are based on the light absorption by chromophores in the cells, especially by cytochrome C oxidase (CCO) inside the mitochondria, triggering improvements in muscle recovery and performance.

The absorption of the light (from LEDs) by CCO promotes modulations in cell metabolism altering the energetic state of the cells via increased mitochondrial membrane potential and increased synthesis of ATP and cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which in turn possibly modulate the synthesis rate of DNA and RNA via mitochondrial retrograde signalling.

Long term benefits

Therapy provided by Body Boost Bed, in the form of full Body PMB therapy, is applied over human skeletal muscles before or after bouts of exercises in order to:

  • Accelerate muscle recovery,
  • Protect against muscle damage induced by exercise, and
  • Improve performance, such as increasing muscle strength and fatigue resistance
  • Increase tensile strength of muscle & tendon

With Body Boost Bed phototherapy device Physiotherapists and Sports Medicine Specialists can treat a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and pain. The benefits of full body PBM therapy are that it reduces the discomfort of pain and inflammation while promoting blood flow and the body’s own tissue repair mechanisms.

These effects are also valuable in rehabilitation processes that involve exercise programs to recover from muscle lesions and can mitigate the adverse effects of orthopaedic surgical procedures, such as muscle weakness and atrophy, and accelerate the return to athletic sports or functional activity.

Regarding sports medicine, athletes and sportsmen will be benefited with a fast muscle recovery, a better gain in muscle mass, and improvement of muscle performance, without the use of any forbidden performance-enhancing drugs.

Testimonials

Debilitating & Painful Injury

I have recently undergone the ‘Body Boost’ treatment at the Clinic and I am finding it really beneficial to my skin care regime.

However, what I am really amazed by is the Body Boost Bed treatment.

I recently suffered with a debilitating and painful injury that severely limited movement in my wrist and fingers. At night I could not sleep unless I succumbed to painkillers. I waited 3 weeks for the injury to heal before considering alternative treatment.

After explaining my predicament to the staff at LaserDerm I was given the opportunity to try the Body Boost treatment, something I had never heard of or experienced before. I was advised I could expect some relief after around 3 sessions. Imagine my great relief and joy when, after only 1 session, I awoke the very next morning suffering with very little pain and nearly full movement in my wrist and fingers.

Now, after only 2 sessions, I am thrilled with the results. I am no longer in pain and have regained full movement in my wrist and fingers. To this day I still rave about my experience and have decided to go for the full Body Boost treatment to iron out my other aches and pains as a result of years of being a gym junkie.

Thanks Vicki and Mladen for this wonderful treatment opportunity.

Hanna.

Marathon runner

When I first found out that the Body Boost Bed was going to be available at work I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I thought how can laying on a bed under flashing lights help my sore legs?

I am currently training for my first marathon and was having significant problems with my legs due to the large amount of running I was doing and my running technique not being 100%. I had just missed my 24km weekend run, which was going to be my longest run ever. I was starting to feel down and question my ability to get through the training and the big run on race day.

I had started seeing a Physiotherapist and he was fantastic but it was taking time for my body to repair from the damage I had done. I felt like time was something I didn't have. My boss managed to convince me to give the Body Boost Bed a try and I'm so glad I did!

Since starting my regular sessions on the Body Boost Bed, my Physiotherapist is amazed at the progress I have made in loosening up and repairing the damage I had done. I find my session’s relaxing and I can actually feel the tingling as the LED light works to help repair the damaged cells. I have managed to continue my running training and I have completed my longest runs ever - 26km and 30km. I feel like I'm back on track and one step closer to crossing the finish line at the Marathon in September.
